A-Level Technician. We Have the Hours. Can You Turn Them?
A big hourly rate means nothing if there aren’t enough cars in the shop.
A lot of shops are advertising huge technician pay right now.
Then you get there.
Three cars on your schedule.
Waiting on approvals.
Waiting on parts.
Waiting on the next RO.
Waiting on approvals.
Waiting on parts.
Waiting on the next RO.
That’s not the problem at Full Throttle Automotive.
We have more work than we have technician capacity.
Our Evansville shop sees 600+ vehicles every month, and we are looking for an experienced A-level technician who wants a steady pipeline of work and the support to turn it into flagged hours.
If you're capable of producing 45, 50, 55+ hours a week, we want to give you the opportunity to do it consistently.
The Difference Is Opportunity
We aren't hiring because the shop is slow.
We're hiring because we're busy.
You won't be competing with six other technicians for three repair orders.
You won't spend half your day washing cars, hunting down parts, writing estimates, or doing work someone else should be handling.
You diagnose. You repair. You produce.
Our team handles the rest.
-
600+ vehicles per month
- Consistent backlog and strong car count
- 1 Service Advisors for every 3 technicians
- Dedicated Parts Manager
- Porters handling vehicle movement and support tasks
- Fleet of loaner vehicles that helps customers authorize repairs instead of postponing them
- Shop Foreman and Master Technicians available for support
The cars are here. The hours are here. We need the technician who can turn them.
What You Can Earn
We offer competitive flat-rate compensation with accelerated bonus pay for technicians producing 45+, 50+, and 55+ flagged hours.
Plus:
- $500 monthly performance bonuses
- $2,500 annual goal bonus
- 100% company-paid health insurance
- 401(k) match
- PTO
- 6–9 paid holidays
- Paid ASE testing
- Paid continuing education and training
Think another shop pays a higher flat-rate number?
Bring us your pay plan and your production numbers. Let's talk about what you actually earn — not just what someone says they'll pay per hour.
Because the best flat-rate rate in town doesn't mean much if you're only getting 30 hours of work.
A Shop Built for Technicians Who Produce
Fully staffed advisors and support personnel mean you spend your time doing technician work — not looking up parts or washing customer cars.
You'll work in a:
- Modern, clean, climate-controlled facility
- Well-equipped diagnostic environment
- Shop with professional scan tools, lab scopes, diagnostic equipment, and workstations
- No-weekend environment
- No-late-night environment
- High-volume operation with established processes and leadership on site
Our Owner and GM are involved and accessible. Decisions don't have to travel through 16 layers of corporate red tape.
What We're Looking For
This is an A-level technician position.
We're looking for someone with:
- 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
- Strong diagnostic ability
- Bi-directional scan tool proficiency
- Drivability, electrical testing, analysis, and road-test expertise
- Your own professional tools
- Valid driver's license
- Strong attendance and work ethic
ASE certifications and technical-school training are a plus, but we're much more interested in what you can diagnose, repair, and produce than the plaques hanging on your wall.
Why Full Throttle?
We're building a technician-first operation where talented people can actually perform at their potential.
You're not competing against the technician in the bay next to you. You're part of the same team.
We invest in training.
We invest in equipment.
We invest in support staff.
And, most importantly for a flat-rate technician:
We invest heavily in keeping cars coming through the door.
We also like having some fun along the way, including company trips and experiences such as French Lick, Kansas City, and the NHRA Nationals.
If you're currently sitting in a shop watching your earning potential disappear because there simply isn't enough work, we should talk.
You bring the skill.
We'll bring the cars.
We'll bring the cars.
Apply now and bring your production numbers.
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
The Full Throttle Story
Edward and Brandi Caswell, owners of Full Throttle Automotive, started the business in 2014 after a side gig in their garage became more than their home could handle. Leaving Edward’s teaching career behind with minimal funding, three kids in tow, and a dream Full Throttle Automotive was born. Having little business background, they were able to manage their business and employees without ever going into debt. They found that honesty, transparency, and passion quickly allowed them to become one of the Tri-state’s most reputable auto repair shops. Over the past several years Edward has dedicated his time to gaining wisdom from the Lord and men’s study group, as well as seeking knowledge from other respectable leaders in the automotive industry that have helped him grow both personally and professionally. Edward believes in maintaining efficiency by empowering his employees to carry out the right systems and processes. The success of Full Throttle has allowed them to give back to their community. With the help of their amazing crew, aka “family”, and the support of their customers, Full Throttle has helped fund many high school sports, organizations, and families. Each year the shop hosts a benefit car show to raise funds for the Paul E. Caswell Memorial Fund in honor of Edward’s late father who first instilled in him the art of mechanics as well as the importance of hard work. The memorial fund is used to award scholarships to graduating high school students looking to pursue a career in the automotive industry. Full Throttle has also received multiple Reader’s Choice Awards for the tri-states best in auto repair, oil change service, and tire center along with being a Carfax top-rated center, Napa Gold Certified shop, and the 2024 AAA top shop in the nation. None of which would be possible without their dedicated team and outstanding customers. They look forward to serving the tri-state area for years to come and thank each person that has helped pave the way for Full Throttle’s success. Through it all, Edward and Brandi remain humble and give all the glory to God for His blessings.
